Our Impact/Our Progress
Challenges
Schools in Guyana remain underfunded. The consequences of underfunding over the long-term are serious. Underfunding has resulted in read system that cannot attract and keep qualified teachers. Under funding has also been responsible for a lack of learning materials, lack of access to technology, inadequate learning facilities and low functional literacy in students.
START DONATING
We address the low functional literacy plaguing schools by providing reading books for libraries and for classrooms.
We address inadequate access to technology by providing computers, laptops, printers, projectors and other media equipment and internet to schools where needed.
We address the lack of materials by providing teaching supplies, providing school supplies, and other equipment including printers, toners, print paper.
We will address inadequate learning facilities by renovating school libraries so that students have a safe and fun environment to learn to read.
